Wikipedia defines Technology as “knowledge of tools and crafts, and how it affects a species' ability to control and adapt to its environment.”
Most of us have a love-hate relationship with technology, but for some it goes beyond healthy admiration, and that’s when ‘obsession’ comes into picture.
For a generation addicted to social media and latest gizmos, it is hard to imagine a world without instant communication. And life without any technology, like movies or music?
UNTHINKABLE.
There is a belief within the technology industry that technology and programming are pure, rational, logical and good. People, on the other hand, are messy, emotional, illogical and only occasionally good. From this belief flows a logical conclusion: People are the problem, technology is the solution.
It’s like, our civilization has been enslaved by technology. Couples are sitting at separate laptops and sending instant messages to each other in the same house instead of using their mouths to speak. People are getting lazier and lazier because they won't get off of their rears to walk ten feet to talk to each other. Receiving text messages from within the same house is the new norm.
A few symptoms observed in technobssessed species are as follows:
. You take it in your stride if you poke someone and they poke you back!
. You start categorizing a person depending on the number of people in their friend list
e.g.: Oh, he/she has 500+ friends in their list, HOW COOL. Or, OMG, only 100 friends in your list, looser!

. You argue with other people the way you argue with your cell phone.
“Put yourself on silent!” and “Your brain does not have the capacity to get any signal. Otherwise you would be getting my message right now!” are some of your rudest lines in an argument.

. People holding cell phones give you the same feelings as couples holding hands and cell phones.
When you see couples holding hands, you wait a while to have them take out their cell phones before judging that your connection with your cell phone is more genuine compared to theirs or that you want to have such connections yourself.

The list goes on and on......and it's only the beginning.
Ah, only the almighty can save us now!
